Honest limits — read before you use these
- These are fictional name combinations for creative use only — stories, screenplays, games, writing exercises and placeholder data.
- A generated name may coincidentally resemble a real person. That is chance, not design. Never use a generated name to impersonate, misrepresent or defame anyone.
- Do not use these for fraud or deception — fake business registrations, scam personas, phishing or any other dishonest purpose.
- Generation is local and random: the same settings will produce different results each time, and we never see or store what you generate.
How the generator works
A small JavaScript file combines curated first and last names into believable founder names — no accounts, no network calls, no fine print.
Curated name pools
First and last names are grouped by style — classic boardroom, modern, tech-startup and old-money — so combinations sound like they belong together instead of random word salad.
Secure randomness
Each name is drawn with crypto.getRandomValues(), the browser's built-in secure random number generator. Duplicates are filtered within each batch.
Private by design
Generation, copying and the .txt download all happen locally in your browser tab. There is no backend and no analytics. Close the tab and the names are gone.
When to use fictional founder names
This tool exists for one honest job: inventing plausible founder identities for creative work. Here is where that is genuinely useful.
Novels and screenplays
Need a startup founder for your story? Generate a batch, pick the name that fits the character's voice, and move on with writing instead of agonizing over a name.
Games and roleplay
Tabletop RPGs, video game NPCs, business-sim scenarios — founder names give in-world companies an instant human face.
Real-world deception
Never attach a generated name to a real business filing, a fake review, a scam persona or any impersonation. Fictional names belong in fiction.

What is a company founder name generator? +
A company founder name generator creates fictional names of people who could plausibly have founded a company — typically a first and last name, optionally with a title like "Founder & CEO". Writers and game designers use them to populate fictional businesses quickly.
Are the names unique? +
They are random combinations of common name parts, so they are invented but not guaranteed unique — a combination could coincidentally match a real person's name. If uniqueness matters for a published work, search the name before committing to it.
Can I use generated names in a published book or game? +
Yes, for creative works. The names are generic combinations with no creative authorship attached. Still, do a quick search to make sure the name is not strongly associated with a real public figure, especially if your character is unflattering.
Is the generator really private? +
Yes. It is plain JavaScript running in your browser using crypto.getRandomValues(). Nothing is sent over the network, no cookies are set, nothing is stored. See our privacy page.
What do the naming styles mean? +
Each style draws from a different name pool: classic boardroom names sound established, modern names sound contemporary, tech startup names are short and punchy, and old money names carry a legacy feel. Our styles guide explains when to use each.
Why include founder titles? +
Titles like "Co-founder & CTO" instantly tell the reader what the character does in the company. They are useful for cast lists, org charts and game NPC descriptions — and you can switch them off any time.
